Nichayathartham — the formal engagement

Before the wedding itself, families formally confirm the match in front of relatives, often exchanging gifts and setting the wedding date — traditionally chosen according to an auspicious Muhurtham.

Muhurtham — auspicious timing

The wedding date and time are traditionally chosen based on horoscope calculations, aiming for a period considered spiritually auspicious for the couple. Pandhakkal, kappu and other pre-wedding rituals
